Seeing children respond the way Bear did upon hearing for the first time that he was a nice kid is even more tragic.
Bear was a good boy, really. Simply put, he was living with the wrong people, who never expressed their gratitude to him. Bear’s life was too terrible, but it didn’t have to grow any worse once he was given up to the shelter.
Bear’s future began to look brighter when he was taken in by Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, California. There, he heard the kind words, “You’re a good boy, Bear,” for the very first time.”
It’s The First Time Someone Has Assured Him of His Goodness
You kind of start believing you are something when someone tells you repeatedly that you are. Bear never received any kind words. He was constantly sent to the corner, cursed at, and told he had no value. And that’s how Bear began to feel.
He was searching for food outside the trash cans of a neighboring Wildomar Chick-fil-A when he was discovered by rescuers. He was seriously malnourished, awfully disregarded, and frantic for some affection.
Bear was a dog with a broken spirit. If only someone could make him happy again. Life in the shelter was tough, making Bear feel even more sad. It’s hard to stay positive when surrounded by other animals who have gone through the same thing. You begin to wonder if the pain will ever stop.
Luckily, things began to improve for Bear. At his lowest point, Rocky Kanaka entered his life, bringing hope. Rocky’s “Sitting With Dogs” project helps anxious dogs with traumatic pasts slowly desensitize, resocialize, and heal, giving Bear a chance for a better future. Bear joined the ranks of dogs in this caring program. With Rocky’s gentle approach, Bear started to believe in brighter days ahead. The universe seemed to shift in Bear’s favor, guiding him toward a future filled with hope and happiness.
Rocky proceeded cautiously, as usual. He could tell from Bear’s appearance that the poor puppy had experienced a lot and had visited the shelters frequently, where he had grown a kennel nose from all of his pushing against the bars.
As Rocky handed out the treats to Bear, they started to vanish one by one. Bear felt more at ease as he took the initial step toward lowering his guard. Rising from the corner, he began to smell everything around him, even giving Rocky a thorough lick.
Bear was eager to share his love with anyone who would listen, and Rocky was there to hear him.
When Rocky called Bear a good boy, Bear reacted in a completely new and joyful way for the first time in his life.
Bear reacted with a bouncing tail, perky ears, and a sparkle in his eyes when Rocky named him a good boy midway through the video that he released. Those remarks affected him. Bear always knew he was a nice kid.
Getting a reminder from someone was the biggest thing he needed
Bear refused to let the prior experience to permanently scar him. True, he was mistreated and undernourished, yet his body recovered. His soul also did so.
Rocky believed that if extra care was shown, the bear could become a good child.
Every Day My Hooman Calls Me Good Boy
Bear received a human father, along with a baby sister, a new name, and a fresh start.
After seeing him in the shelter, Bear’s new father saw the footage of Rocky.
He knew that he expected to take the Viszla for himself. His father, Mats, had possessed a Vizsla previously, so he comprehended how to deal with this astonishing variety. Bear or Shadow began to bloom in the proper hands.
Bear had changed dramatically in only his first two weeks of living with the Mets. He had a fresh start in life and was like a brand-new puppy.
Bear became a viral phenomenon on the Internet with a little assistance from the Mets and his sister, Sigyn, a Husky. Millions of people saw the footage of him with Rocky. It was evident to everybody how he responded to those kind words: “You’re a good boy, Bear.”
